The 2013 Pavement Saw Chapbook Award Winner is Matthew Cooperman from Fort Collins, Colorado. His collection Little Spool will be published in a run of 400 copies plus overage in early 2015 and he will receive 40 copies and $500.

Cooperman is the author of, most recently, the text + image collaboration Imago for the Fallen World, w/Marius Lehene (Jaded Ibis Press,
2013), as well as Still: of the Earth as the Ark
which Does Not Move (Counterpath Press, 2011), DaZE (Salt Publishing Ltd, 2006) and A Sacrificial Zinc (Pleiades/LSU, 2001), winner of the Lena-Miles
Wever Todd Prize.
Recent work has appeared in Hotel Amerika, Verse, Boston Review, New American Writing, Seattle Review, VOLT, Pleaides, Fogged Clarity and Lana Turner. A founding editor of Quarter After Eight, and co-poetry
editor of Colorado Review, he teaches
in the Creative Writing program at Colorado State University. He lives in Fort
